Bayonetta and Corrin Are Ready to Smash

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Magical Mystery Blog.

Folks, I’m going to try and do my best to keep myself at a calm composure for today’s entry. Currently, I am sitting in my office at work, typing this entry, and bouncing like a kid who just chugged a Mt. Dew Code Red spiked with Pixie Stix. Why am I so ungodly hyper you wonder?

BAYONETTA IS GOING TO BE IN SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL 4.

Bayonetta is by far one of my favorite Nintendo characters. She takes no bull from anyone and is a playful, clever, sexy witch who knows when to be serious and has some amazing skills to boot. These skills (witch time, Infernal Demon summoning, and even her butterfly wings) will be implemented into SSBB4. Alongside her abilities, we also get the Umbra Clock Tower platform from the first Bayonetta game. Bayonetta and her level will be available as SSBB 4’s final DLC in February 2016 ($6.00 for Wii U or DS, $7.00 for both).

I’m sure most of you were also excited about finally receiving some word about Cloud Strife. Cloud Strife, new costumes for our Miis, and the Midgar arena are currently available for download ($6.00 for Wii or DS, $7.00 for both). Every time Cloud attacks, he increases his Limit Break mode which enables him to unleash a special attack and more powerful moves.

The Midgar arena has practically sent everyone over the moon with its new summon features. These summon features will only be compatible with the Midgar level wherein materia containing classic Final Fantasy creatures will bounce around. Each materia contains one of the five different summons: Bahamut Zero (who fires a flare at the stage), Ifrit (who moves the stage and sets it ablaze), Ramuh (who manipulates and electrifies the stage), Odin (who splits the stage), and Leviathan (who floods the stage).

We also received word of another challenger coming to SSBB4: Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates. Corrin is another swordsperson and can be male or female. However, what makes Corrin different from the other Fire Emblem characters in SSBB4 is the ability to transform into a dragon. Corrin can enter full dragon mode or change certain parts of them into a dragonesque part. Corrin will be available for download in February 2016; $6.00 for Wii or DS, $7.00 for both.

Lastly we are finally receiving the Fire/Water type Pokemon Volcanion next year. Volcanion will be available for Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire, and will be the last new downloadable Pokemon we’ll be receiving for a while. It will be featured in a Pokemon XY & Z movie debuting in Japan next summer and will be distributed around the time of the movie’s release.

Thank you for reading tonight’s entry. If you enjoyed it, feel free to share, comment, critique, and subscribe.

So tell me, who are you excited for: Bayonetta, Cloud, Corrin, or Volcanion?

Minecraft and Cloud Strife: What You've Been Waiting For

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Magical Mystery Blog.

This previous weekend, Nintendo claimed that it would have something for us Monday. This news would be completely and ridiculously Earth-shattering, something to boggle our minds, information to break the fabrication of time as we know it. When Monday approached, we were greeted with the news that Minecraft would be available for purchase in the Nintendo Eshop for the Wii U on December 17th, 2015.

At $30, gamers can play the iconic game on the gamepad and eliminate the use of the television while receiving the Battle & Beasts Skin pack, Battle & Beasts 2 Skin pack, Natural Texture pack, City Texture pack, Fantasy Texture pack, and Festive Mash-up pack along with their purchase. Following the game’s initial launch, players can buy other packs with “Doctor Who”, “Star Wars”, steampunk, Greek mythology, Halloween, Mass EffectSkyrim, cartoon, pattern, and candy themes.

The news was received with mixed reviews – most people were expecting the date to download Cloud Strife for
Super Smash Bros Brawl or any word on Pokemon Z. After all, Corocoro (a Pokemon magazine in Japan) mentioned teasing us with some rather large news regarding Pokemon in December. What this is, one can speculate that it pertains to Pokemon Z. The only Pokemon news we have received was for today in that Sceptile has been confirmed for Pokken Tournament with Electrode and Farfetch’d as supporting characters.

However, something much more exciting than
Minecraft has flooded the Internet. On December 15th at 2 PM, Masahiro Sakurai (a major artist who works on Super Smash Bros series) will be informing us more about Cloud Strife and the future of Super Smash Bros Brawl 4 for both the Wii U and 3DS. Nintendo is also deeming this event as the final presentation regarding Super Smash Bros Brawl.

What could this mean? Obviously, the information regarding Cloud will probably be the date when he is available for the game. But what about the fan Brawl ballot? It seems likely that Cloud has won the ballot, but no one is for certain.

For now, we wait with bated breath for possibly the greatest thing to happen to Super Smash Bros Brawl since its very creation.

Thank you for reading tonight’s entry. If you enjoyed it, feel fre to comment, critique, share, and subscribe.

So tell me, what would you like to see Nintendo announce or discuss?

A Game Theory

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Magical Mystery Blog.

After Nintendo’s epic Nintendo Direct session (which I’m still trying to get over the fact that Cloud is now going to be in Super Smash Bros Brawl 4), my brain started thinking about a few things. Call them conspiracy theories or fan theories if you will, but these were some ideas that were bouncing about in my head after last week’s Nintendo Direct.

-With the addition of Cloud, will we get other Final Fantasy characters? Granted, we cannot have a Super Smash Final Fantasy Bros Brawl 4 because clearly that would be too long of a game title and there are more Nintendo characters than just Cloud. But hear me out on this: since we have Cloud, wouldn’t it be incredible if we also obtained Sephiroth? In SSBB4, we have characters that appear as hero and villain: Mario and Bowser, Link and Ganondorf, Kirby and King Dedede, Sonic and Shadow (temporarily). So why not throw Sephiroth into the mix? Besides, it would be fantastic if we could replicate all of his moves and his final form could be his Safer form from FF7.

-We already have a Chocobo costume coming for our Mii. However, our Miis are able to access costumes featuring those in and out of SSBB4. With this being said, it wouldn’t surprise me if our Miis were able to obtain Cloud’s hair, costume(s), and Buster Sword. This also opens up the question of possibly obtaining more Mii outfits from other Final Fantasy characters like Moogles, Sephiroth, or even Tifa.

-Could Cloud be the winner of the Nintendo Brawl Ballot? The Brawl Ballot was designed for people to send in their votes of who they would like to see in Brawl. It wouldn’t surprise me if one or more persons suggested Cloud and it wouldn’t surprise me further if this were the case.

-Since we are getting Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow for the Wii U, does this mean more old Pokemon games will be making a comeback to our updated systems? If so, will this mean the return of Pokemon Snap? After all it was mentioned at Nintendo before that this could be a possibility. I would suggest the Pokemon Stadium series, but I believe they are playable on the Gamecube which in turn can be played on the Wii. Perhaps though, they could bring back the original Pokemon Stadium from the N64 to the Wii or 2/3DS.

-As far as I’m aware, Linkle will only be available for the 2/3DS version of Hyrule Warriors. With this being the case, will she also be available as DLC for Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U? Also, will we get a costume based on her character in SSBB4?

-Nothing wrong with the character herself, but why Linkle for a name? I mean I guess it’s cute, but they could have maybe named her Linkla, Lady Link, Linkara, Linkette, Linkkorra, Linkola, or anything that doesn’t sound like a lovechild between Link and Tingle.

-CROSSBOWS.

-The new Wolf Link amiibo can also be used for the new Legend of Zelda premiering next year. This makes me wonder if Link will once more be reverting to his wolf form (he would have to be in order for the amiibo to work I believe), but also the return of Midna. After all, she was the one who rode and controlled him in this beastly form. If she is to come back, how would she be incorporated in the game? The Mirror of Twilight was shattered by her in Twilight Princess, thus preventing the realm of Twilight to emerge. Unless they repeat what they did in Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U and have the timelines merge together, allowing for new characters to pop up and be usable.

So tell me, what are some of your thoughts on November 12th’s Nintendo Direct?

Welcome to Nintendo, Cloud and Linkle

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Magical Mystery Blog.

Well tonight I had an entry already prepared for everyone, but no sooner I came home, Nintendo decided to explode all over my dashboard. To be frank with you, I don’t even know where to begin.
Honestly, my brain is still recovering from the mind explosion that is Cloud coming to Super Smash Bros Brawl 4.

No, it is not a mod, no it is not a prank, it is, in fact, incredibly real. It’s about as real as you and me and my brain is still in shock because not only do we get Cloud but we also get a Midgar level, summons (including Bahamut), and a Chocobo costume for our Mii. There will be a Nintendo Direct in December to further explain when Cloud, the new level, and the new costume will appear in our Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros Brawl 4.

The second thing that I’m still recovering from is the fact that Lady Link (aka Linkle) is now an official character in the Legend of Zelda world. Linkle was a rumored character initially spawned by designs for the iconic swordsman, Link. But now we have her complete with blonde braids and a smile that can even make Ganondorf smirk. She will be playable on the 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors.

Speaking of Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess will be receiving an HD remake for the Wii U on March 4th, 2016. Twilight Princess was already incredible with its graphics and plot, but for an HD remake? It’s going to look even more visually stunning. Along with the new look, Twilight Princess will also receive amiibo capability and a new amiibo based off of Link’s wolf form.

Lastly, remember how the 90s started to return? Well, the 90s are about to come full circle. Starting February 27th, 2016 Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow will be available for the Nintendo 2DS and 3DS. It will feature wifi attributes so you don’t have to go hunting for your cable link to actually trade Pokemon. This means you get to relieve your favorite childhood memories of picking your very first starter, fighting Team Rocket, and constantly being defeated by Lance and his overpowered Dragonites.

I don’t know about you, fellow readers, but I need to lie down. My head is still spinning from all of this wonderful news.
