Samurai Jack, Bill Nye, and Ms.Frizzle On Your Screen

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Magical Mystery Blog.

This year is going to be explosive for sentimental people. Some of television’s best shows that kept us hanging on the edge of our seats or educated us in our childhoods are making a comeback.  It’s funny in knowing that the shows we grew up with will now also entertain a whole new generation.

“Samurai Jack” will return on Adult Swim on March 11rd, 2017 at 11 pm. The limited series picks up fifty years after the original final episode, wherein time no longer has any effect on Jack. The world still suffers from Aku’s wrath in the past, present, and even the future. Aku now has a cult with the sole mission of eliminating Samurai Jack who must return to the past.

Following the return of the iconic samurai is a certain science guy reinforcing global warming, science, biology, and a ton of other topics. “Bill Nye Saves the World” will be appearing on Netflix on April 21st, 2017 and feature guest celebrities joining Bill Nye in a scientific conquest. Some guests will be Donald Faison, Zach Braff, Wil Wheaton, and many others.

Lastly, “The Magic School Bus:  Rides Again” is back to take us for an animated knowledgeable journey. Kate McKinnon will give voice to Ms. Frizzle later this year on Netflix.

As soon as these shows come on my inner child will go wild with elation and nostalgia. Here’s hoping the new generation will enjoy these shows as much as we did.

The 90s: A Nostalgic Roadtrip

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Magical Mystery Blog.

Most of you, like me, are 90s babies; babies that were born between 1990 and 1999 and distinctly remember everything about the era. We were the children of the dial up age who played Pokemon religiously while chewing Bubbalicious and establishing the iconic grunge look of the time. Apparently, the 90s aren’t over; with every passing month it seems that something from the 90s is either resurfacing out of love or being rebooted.

Here’s why it feels like the 90s:

9. Crystal Pepsi

Crystal Pepsi wasn’t that popular of a drink back then, but it is something everyone remembers.  Its distinct taste and translucent appearance was different from the regular Pepsi that we guzzled. Regardless, it was a drink of the 90s that people sampled and can easily recall.

8. Limited Too is Coming Back

Limited Too was the shop for all the popular kids and now it’s making a comeback. It closed back in 2008 and converted to the store, Justice, another tween shop. But now with the 90s returning, why not bring back a nostalgic store too?  Speaking of Limited Too….

7.  Fashion Repeats Itself

Chokers, the grunge look, jelly sandals, Doc Martens, biker jackets. You remember these fashion statements from the 90s and now they’re returning and looking better than ever.  I don’t know about you, fellow readers, but I’m going to grab myself a choker and a biker jacket.

6.  FF7 is Being Remade

The one wish of Final Fantasy fans everywhere is being granted in the future. As announced at this year’s E3, Final Fantasy 7 will be remade. When it will be released no one is certain, but it will be remade for the PS4 and promise everything the original game offered, including a crossdressing Cloud.

5. “Jurassic Park” is in Theaters

Well, more specifically “Jurassic World”, but it is a part of the famous franchise. Remember as a kid you were terrified and amazed by the life like dinosaurs invading your screen? You can now experience the wonder again in “Jurassic World” as velociraptors and t-rexes dominate the screen in all their fanged, roaring glory.

4. ”Digimon” is Making a Comeback

As mentioned in one of my older posts, this is the 15th anniversary of “Digimon”.  To celebrate this commemorative occasion, we will be receiving “Digimon Tri” a continuation of the original “Digimon” series with the main cast as adults. It’ll be a six part theatrical release as opposed to a televised program, but it’s enough to get fans everywhere excited to see the original digi-destined.

3. Almost Every 90s Show is Coming Back

“Bill Nye the Science Guy”,” The Magic School Bus”, “Saved by the Bell”, and “Dawson’s Creek” are on Netflix.  Even “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” is on ABC Family, providing us with enough action to dropkick a “Dragonball Z” episode.  In the future we’ll be receiving an updated television show of “The Powerpuff Girls” and a sequel series to the show “Full House” called “Fuller House”. We’re even getting a new “Muppets” show that will premiere on ABC this fall.

2. Backstreet Boys & Nysnc vs Zombies

Yes, this is an actual movie that is being made. Yes, Backstreet Boys and Nsync will be teaming up and fighting zombies in a futuristic western zombie apocalypse. It will be produced by Syfy and I swear as Arceus is my witness, I am not making this up.

1.  ”Space Jam 2” MIGHT be happening

“Space Jam”, the ultimate movie that embraced everything the 90s had to offer is getting a sequel starring Lebron James and the famous Looney Toons gang. While “Space Jam” was a great movie from my past, I can only hope that the sequel will have the same iconic theme song as the original movie. This only proves that if you really want to slam, you have to come to the jam.

Powerpuff Girls and Ms. Frizzle Make a Comeback

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to The Magical Mystery Blog.

The 90s are returning, making many adults who grew up in that era rejoice. As an adult from the 90s myself, seeing all these shows from my past being revamped makes me feel like a content old timer. It’s a nostalgic road trip for me, seeing all the shows I grew up with now returning with new animation styles, different voice actors, and new stories.

“The Magic School Bus” is finally getting a reboot. Initially reported in 2014 by various sources, “The Magic School Bus” is going to be revamped as “The Magic School Bus 360.” It will be airing on Netflix in 2016, with the show produced in computer generated animation.  Everything about the show will be modernized form the unforgettable Ms. Frizzle to the Magic School Bus itself complete with robot aids.

Another blast from the past show that’s making a comeback is “The Powerpuff Girls”.  Airing on Cartoon Network in 2016, we will be reunited with the iconic girls made of sugar, spice, everything nice, and Chemical X.  The animation will be in the same original style and will feature a new voice cast; Amanda Leighton will voice Blossom, Kristen Li will play Bubbles, and Natalie Palamides will voice Buttercup. While the new cast broke the original casts’ hearts, they wished the girls well in the future endeavor.
