Run You Clever Boy and Remember Me

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Magical Mystery Blog.

The new “Doctor Who” season starts on September 19th,2015 on BBC. It’s the day we have been waiting for, like children anticipating Christmas. It’s a day that begins a new season where we’re reunited with the Doctor, a wondrous time lord from Gallifrey who travels the stars. Alongside him, we’re introduced to new faces of the otherworldly and human kind, while recognizing old familiar persons like Missy the Mistress and Clara Oswald the Impossible Girl.

But how long will we have Clara with us this season?

It has been stated time and time again that Jenna Coleman would leave “Doctor Who”, but now that rumor is set in stone. Having filmed most of the season, but excluding the Christmas special, Jenna is leaving “Doctor Who” for good. Jenna is moving on with her life and leaving the whimsical world that is “Doctor Who” and taking on a role for a new BBC series, “Queen Victoria”.

Given the fact that Clara is leaving the show permanently, I can only wonder how this will affect the Doctor. In the trailer we see the Doctor actually hugging Clara and running to her just to greet her with a grin and an embrace. Keep in mind that Capaldi’s Doctor is and was far from the hugging type and only now has Clara probably changed that trait. The Doctor has broken a rule of his just to accompany Clara and to make himself more open as opposed to being cold and distant. Only now will Clara be taken from him – how? No one knows, but it will truly be devastating not only to the fans, but the Doctor as well.

So tell me, how do you think Clara Oswald is going to leave?

The Doctor Revisits an Old Face

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Magical Mystery Blog.

With every passing day we get closer to a new season of “Doctor Who”.  With Capaldi still as the Doctor, there’s something fans everywhere have been wondering:

How exactly does this Doctor connect with the episode “The Fires of Pompeii”?

“The Fires of Pompeii” was a “Doctor Who” episode during the 10th Doctor’s run. In this episode, the Doctor and his companion, Donna, found themselves in Pompeii one day before Mt. Vesuvius covered it in ash. The Doctor and Donna met a family whose father (Caecilius) is played by Peter Capaldi. Since this episode aired and Capaldi’s Doctor was revealed, fans have been wondering what exactly Moffat has in mind for these two characters.

Moffat responded by claiming that series 9 of “Doctor Who” will explain these two characters. He even told readers that he would be filming a scene soon that would relate to Capaldi’s Doctor and Caecilius.

From the looks of it, we’ll be getting our wish and finding out how the Doctor and Caecilius are connected. Hang on fans, we only have a few more months until the Doctor begins again!

Thank you for reading tonight’s entry. If you enjoyed it, feel free to share, comment, and critique.

So tell me, how do you think Caecilius and the Doctor are connected?

Doctor Who: Preparing for August

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Magical Mystery Blog.

It’s not August yet and already the Internet is buzzing with rumors about the new Doctor Who season. So far we have seen posters and received confirmation that 12, Clara, and Missy will return.  There will be no mid-series breaks and the season will run undisturbed, as it did last year.

We have also received information that the first episode of the new season will be entitled, The Magician’s Apprentice. I don’t know about you, but I’d love to see that episode focused around Houdini, a famous magician from the 20s. Houdini not only performed magic tricks, but performed daredevil stunts as well which contributed to his demise where he was chained in a straight jacket in a tank of water. I would love to see his death as a fixed point in time, something that the Doctor can’t fix, but Houdini wants him to.

It was reported not too long ago that Doctor Who was filming in Teide National Park in Tenerife which is a vast, volcanic landscape complete with a large landscape. Now Whovians, Peter Capaldi is our twelfth Doctor. Where have we seen him before in a volcanic like setting? If you said Pompeii then you and I share the same mind. It wasn’t specified as to what episode in particular they were filming, but I have a hunch it may have something to do with the Pompeii episode from the 10th Doctor’s run. However, they have also revealed an alien in this shooting which may or may not contradict and eliminate my theory, but one can only hope that this particular filming deals with Pompeii. There is also a rumor of possible filming in Spain.

On February 12th, a certain woman who directed the terrifying episode, Blink appeared again in the Whoverse. That’s right, Hettie Macdonald is back with a vengeance and ready to terrify us once more. She will be directing the second episode of season nine entitled The Witch’s Familiar. Perhaps more Weeping Angels? Or something new to terrify us and haunt our nightmares?

There will also be a two part episode, but all that is known about it is that it features Game of Thrones’  Paul Kaye and will be written by Being Human’s  Toby Whithouse. He has a creepy idea in mind for this particular episode, but what it is, no one is for certain. It’s been rumored for a while that Peter Jackson may direct an episode. However, no one has confirmed or denied anything in regard to that topic in a few years.

So tell me, what are you most excited for Doctor Who?

The End is Near for Clara Oswald

Good evening everyone and welcome to The Magical Mystery Blog.
For those of you who didn’t get the memo, Friday’s entry was not posted because I was camping for the weekend. Now that I am back and sober, let’s dive into this entry.

With the new season of “Doctor Who” just around the corner, we already have titles of episodes, tickets being sold for the theatrical debut, and tons of new merchandise. We’ve been briefly introduced to various characters such as Ms. Delphox and Danny Pink. It seems like every day we’re receiving new information about the popular series, including the speculation of Jenna Coleman leaving.

A few days ago, Jenna Coleman claimed she was quitting the sci fi series. Since most of the season has been filmed, she will be leaving at Christmas. The BBC refuses to confirm if this rumor is true or not, but assures audiences everywhere that they will have to watch to see what happens.

If Jenna does leave at Christmas, it could possibly usher in the new companion, Danny Pink.  Danny Pink is a teacher who taught alongside Clara when she wasn’t traveling with the Doctor. It wouldn’t surprise me if Clara was somehow written off in the Christmas episode because every companion has their run. Sooner or later, the torch is passed onto someone new that may or may not win the audience’s hearts.

Do you believe Jenna will leave at Christmas, why or why not?  Feel free to comment, reblog, and as always, feedback and followers are welcomed.
